About Samosa Recipe

Samosa is a spicy potato stuffed triangular shaped crispy Indian pastry. Prepared without onion & garlic. Check how to make it at home at ease with  a few simple ingredients & step by step pics.

Samosa Ingredients 

For Stuffing Potatoes, Green peas, Peanuts, Ginger, Green chillies, Coriander Powder, Turmeric Powder, Red chilli Powder, Hing, Mustard seeds, Garam masala powder, Chaat masala, Coriander & Mint, leaves  Salt & Vegetable Oil. 

For making Dough  Maida/All purpose flour, Ajwain/carrom seeds, Ghee, Salt & Water. For spices Coriander seeds, fennel seeds & dry red chillies.

Other Ingredients

Masala For Samosa

Dry roast coriander seeds, fennel seeds & dry red chilli. Half crush the spices.

Making Samosa

For Samosa Stuffing 

Heat a pan with oil. Add mustard seeds to crackle. Good sauté ginger-garlic paste. Sauté with green peas, turmeric powder & chilli powder.

Adding Aloo

Add half crushed roasted samosa masala, garam masala powder,  Add crumbled potato & sauté well. 

Stuffing is ready

Add roasted peanuts. Then add chopped coriander & mint. Mix them well. Turn off the heat. Lastly add chaat masala Stuffing is ready.

Samosa Dough Making

Sift flour, mix with half crushed ajwain/carrom seeds & salt. Mix with ghee, until crumbly. Knead with water & make a tight dough Cover the dough for 30-45 mins.

Making Samosa Pastry

Take a lemon size ball from the dough. Roll it in a round-shaped flat pastry. Cut it into middle & divide into two half circle portions.

Make a Pastry Cone

Take a half portion of pastry. Make a cone by sealing the opposite edges. Pastry cone is ready to fill.

Stuff the Pastry cone

Fill the stuffing 3/4 of the cone. Perfectly seal the mouth of the cone.,  Make sure stuffing can not come out while frying.

How To Fry

Fry the samosa in slight hot oil. Do not over crowd  the pan.  Fry the samosas until golden brown & crispy.

Serve it with

Serve with tomato ketchup and fried green chilies. Or serve with spicy green chutney as served in Indian streets in evening.  Or serve with a cup of tea
