Ingredients of lassi:

2 cups thick curd/yogurt (500 ml) 7 tbsp powdered sugar 12 ice cubes 4 tbsp malai Almond & Pistachio slivers Kesar/Saffron strands(for garnishing)

Lassi making kitchen tools

Wooden Churner or Mathni(in Hindi) Steel whisker Or Hand blender Or Blender jar

Lassi Preparation 

Take fresh thick curd/yogurt, homemade or store bought. Make it chilled. If homemade & have malai on its top. Collect it & keep in aside or in refrigerator.

In a mixing bowl, take yogurt/curd, add powdered/granulated sugar, whisk it by hand with a steel whisker or wooden churner/ Mathni.

Making of sweet lassi

Step 1

Whisk or churn it until sugar melts down, add ice cubes churn it well for 30 secs to 1 min.

Add Ice cubes

To bring street style lassi shop's like froth, put the mathni or whistker on the top layer of lassi & churn it with both hands for 5-7 mins to make it more frothy.

How to serve lassi

Pour this sweet Lassi in tall patiala glasses( Punjabi steel glasses) or in earthen glasses to serve it like street style lassi shops.

Garnish this street style punjabi sweet lassi with chilled malai/ cream, few strands of kesar or saffron & few slivers of almond & pistachios.
