Kesar Peda recipe - with Milk and Milk Powder

What is Kesar Peda?

Kesar Peda is a classic Indian sweet dish made with Kesar (saffron), milk / mawa (khoya) / Powdered milk, cardamom powder, sugar and ghee. learn how to make kesar peda at home with a few simple tips and tricks with step by step picture details.

Ingredients of Kesar Peda

Milk - Milk Powder mix

For making Kesar Peda, first, take 1 cup of milk and mix it with 1/2 cup milk powder. Stir well to keep the mix lump free.

How to Make it ?

Boil the Milk

Mix the “milk powder mixed milk” with the rest of the milk and start boiling the milk on medium heat.

Soak Saffron in Milk

Once the milk starts boiling, take a tablespoon of milk and soak a small portion of saffron strands into the hot milk. Soak the saffron strands for 10 mins.

Make Khoya or Mawa 

Mix the saffron-soaked milk with the boiling milk, mix it well and keep boiling the milk until gets thick and yellow rabri or mawa. Turn off the heat.Completely cool down the mawa.

 Kesar Peda Mixture

Once the rabri or mawa cools down and comes at room temperature, mix well with powdered sugar, ground green cardamom (elaichi) powder and ghee. Now mixture is ready for making Kesar Peda.

Kesar Peda is ready

Grease your palm with slight ghee and form the peda with your desired shape. Kesar Peda is ready, garnish this sweet with pistachio sleeves and saffron strands.
