Red sauce pasta is a recipe of Italian tomato sauce pasta prepared by tossing pasta in creamy tomato sauce with Italian herbs & cheese, easy to make at home with simple steps.
Boil water with salt & oil, add penne pasta(use any pasta) in boiling water, cook al dente, drain well, keep aside.
Wash tomatoes, make slits, keep it in piping hot water for 7-8 mins. Strain it, Peel it out & roughly chop it. Blend it well & make a smooth puree.
Heat a pan on low, add oil, sauté finely chopped onion & garlic until soft, add basil, then add the tomato puree, pepper, chilli flakes, salt & oregano, sauté well.
Creamy, tangy red tomato sauce(Italian marinara sauce) is ready. Can add more salt for taste or even more chilli flakes for making it more spicy.
Add pasta in red sauce, toss or gently stir it well, cook for 1-2 mins, turn off the heat.
Our creamy red sauce pasta is ready, grate a good amount of parmesan cheese on it(optional). Mix it well.
Best to serve this pasta all alone. However can serve this red pasta with any veg or non veg pizza or garlic bread or bread toast or just serve with a drink.
