Chinese Vegetable fried rice recipe(restaurant style)

About this veg fried rice

Vegetable fried rice is an Indian chinese restaurant style recipe prepared by tossing rice in sauces with assorted veggies, easy to make at home by following simple steps.

For making rice 1 1/2 cup basmati rice / long grain rice 4 cups water 1 tsp oil 1/2 tsp salt.

Ingredients of vegetable fried rice

Vegetables used 1/2 cup carrot  1/2 cup beans 1/2 cup spring onion 1/2 cup capsicum 1 green chilli 2 tsp garlic


Sauce required 1 1/2 tsp Soya sauce Other ingredients 2 tsp Vinegar 1/2 tsp white or black pepper 2tbsp oil(sesame/vegetable)  Salt(as required)


Rinse the rice, soak it in water, drain well & cook it in boiling water along with oil & salt, cook it until 80% done, drain the starch, spread it in a plate.

Making vegetable fried rice

Frying veggies 

Heat a deep frying pan /wok, heat oil, fry chopped garlic, once aroma releases, fry beans, carrots, capsicum, green chillies, chopped spring onion one by one. 

Toss in sauce

Toss the fried veggies with soya sauce and vinegar. Fry the veggies in sauce about 30 secs or raw smell of soya sauce goes off. 

Fry the rice

Add the pre-cooked rice in pan/wok, toss it or gently stir it well for 3-4 mins by adding salt & pepper in it. 

Fried rice is ready

Sprinkle a handful of finely chopped spring onion over the fried rice, mix it gently & turn off the flame. Chines restaurant style vegetable fried rice is ready.

Best to serve this fried rice with veg or non veg chinese side dish gravy like chinese chilli or manchurian dishes as served in Indian Chinese restaurants.
