Chicken korma is a traditional Mughlai murgh curry cooked in a yogurt & nuts based less spicy gravy.  Easy to make at home just with simple ingredients, without cream or coconut milk.

Ingredients Of Chicken Korma 

Chicken (Bone-in pcs), Onion, Yogurt/Curd, Garlic, Ginger, Cashew, Green chillies, Ghee, Oil, Bay Leaves, Cardamom, Cloves, Peppercorns, Cinnamon, Turmeric Powder, Coriander Powder, Chilli Powder, Kewra Water, Rose Water, Mughlai Mitha Attar (optional)

Marinade the chicken with chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt, yogurt and ginger-garlic paste.

Chicken Korma Making

Preparation

Ground Cardamoms, Mace (Javitri), Shahi Jeera, and Black peppercorns to make authentic korma masala. Keep aside.

 Korma Masala

Heat a pan with ghee, golden fry the onion. Blend the onion with cashew nuts & remaining yogurt to make a creamy paste.

Heat the same pan, fry bay leaves, cinnamon, cardamom, and few black peppercorns in ghee. Add chicken and sauté well. Add slit green chillies and coriander powder. Mix it well.

How To Cook Chicken Korma

After cooking for 2-3 mins, add water, cook it for next 10 mins by covering the pan. Next add onion-cashew-yogurt paste to the gravy. Cook a while.

Again add water. Add salt when gravy starts boiling, Cook it for next 20 mins. After that, add korma masala. 

Lastly add kewra water, rose water and mughlai mitha attar. Cook it for 2-3 mins on slow flame and Chicken Korma is ready.
