Mango frooti recipe | how to make mango frooti at home | homemade mango fruity drink – describes with simple step-by-step method & detailed pictures. Mango frooti is one of the best and most renowned packet mango drinks in India. A delicious mango drink brings refreshment & suits perfect for hot Indian weather.

I can still remember that the catchy title song came up with the mango frooti advertisement when I was a kid? “Mango frooti fresh n juicy”, and from that day itself, I found myself in love with this soft drink. Till now fruity is one of my favorite mango drinks among all old and new brands. Though maaza is also a good among old mango drinks brands. Even I prefer it too but it comes after frooti in my list. Even I guess frooti is the first choice of all mango lovers, especially kids who are the best admirers of this fruit juice.

I have lots of childhood memories with Frooti. I always have a high demand for Frooti, especially in summer I have a huge craving for this mango juice. Till the last drop, we used to sip it hard that would make a fun making noise. Even after finishing the drink, we used to blow up its empty packet by mouth. Then jump on it to make that “boom” sound. It was really fun, did you also experience it?

My son is also a big fan of frooti. Though not only him, I have seen many kids love this mango drink, especially on small kids’ birthdays, frooti’s tetra pack is very common on the party menu and most of the kids love to drink it. Even on my kid’s birthday, I also arrange 3-4 cartoons of 160 ml tetra pack, containing 40 packs in each carton. That’s really a good deal for making kids happy and money-saving too for buying it in bulk.

Homemade mango frooti (mango fruity) drink served in tall glasses and stored in glass bottle

Frooti can be a very healthy mango drink if you make it at home. Even I started making frooti at home only for my kid. Whenever he gets down from his school bus, mostly he demands any packet fruit drinks and fruity is one of them. Though sometimes I bought it for him, however, in summer I must prepare it at home with fresh ripe mangoes. What else can be better than that? As mango is his favorite fruit so I prepare this drink in a good amount and store it in my refrigerator in glass bottles. Even you can do the same, make it for your kids or even for serving your guests. Even after preparing, you can store this homemade frooti for 3 weeks.

Any homemade product is good for health and this mango juice is not out of that it’s fresh and pure as well. As even if we talk about its taste, it’s the same as our renowned brand’s frooti drink. To make this homemade frooti needs some simple ingredients like ripe mangoes, raw mango, sugar, and water. You must be thinking ripe mango pulp must be required for making this juice but why raw mangoes right? Here green mangoes are used to balance the sweetness of this drink though citric acid works the same in the store-bought frooti pack.

In Indian summer this mango drink is best for easily cooling down your body heat too because of using both ripe and raw mangoes in it. It’s a very simple recipe for mango drink that anybody can make at home. To make it more delicious have to choose the right mangoes. Means must use the perfectly ripen tasty mangoes in it. So today I am going to show you how to make my favorite mango fruity.

How to make Mango frooti recipe

  • For making mango frooti, first wash the ripe mangoes(≈ 500g), peel & cut them into cubes.
  • Put the mango cubes in the blender to make a smooth mango pulp.
  • Then wash the raw mango(≈ 200g), peel it out, and boil it in a pressure cooker with 2 cups(1 cup=250 ml) of water.
  • Boil it on high flame until 2 whistles blow.
  • Remove the lid only when pressure is automatically released. Completely cool it down.
  • Strain the raw mangoes well and keep the water aside for using it later.
  • Add the boiled raw mango into the blender with the mango pulp and blend it well.
  • Add 1/2 cup or 8 tbsp water(that water used for boiling mangoes) to the blender to make a smooth pulp.
  • Then strain the blended mango pulp to remove any lump or fiber remains.
  • Add the leftover water(used to boil raw mangoes) to it.
  • Take the mango pulp in a wide vessel and add 4 cups(1 cup=250 ml) of normal drinking water to it.
  • Stir it well to nicely mix the water with the mango pulp.
  • Once the mango pulp and water are completely mixed with each other, then check the consistency.
  • If the mixture has a continuous flowing consistency means the concentration is perfect for this recipe.
  • Then put it on a low flame and add 1+1/4 cup(≈ 250 g) of sugar. Mix it well by continuous stirring.
  • Stir it continuously until the sugar completely melts down.
  • Once the sugar melts down, check its sweetness. You may add more sugar if required.
  • Let it start boiling and boil it for 35-40 mins.
  • During this period of time, must stir it frequently to avoid sticking to the bottom and sides.
  • After 35-40 mins, turn off the heat and completely cool it down.
  • Once it cools down, you may strain it once again if the bubbles exist(which formed during boiling).
  • Mango frooti is ready, pour this mango drink into glass bottles(that must be sterilized). Keep this mango drink in the refrigerator and store it for at least 3 weeks.
  • Serve it chilled to your kids, family, and guests.

Notes

  • You may use more or less sugar as per your taste and the sweetness of mangoes.
  • Don’t add the whole sugar at one time, mix it gradually to know the exact amount of sugar for your drink.
  • As I have added 4 cups of water to it, you may add a little more if you need a little thin consistency.
  • As we don’t use any preservatives in this drink, so you must sterilize the glass bottles before putting the juice in it.
